Darlin' Dixie is a Mini Horse that Mary Clements purchased from a local farmer. She intended Dixie to be a companion for a Mini Horse she adopted from a petting zoo named Lil Joe. Mary is a well known dog trainer/performing dog show performer and decided she wanted to teach the horses basic tricks using a very popular dog training method, "clicker training". She found that this method worked great with horses and they quickly learned all sorts of tricks.
One day while surfing the net, Mary came across a video of a full size horse in Poland that could paint. Wondering if she could teach Dixie this, Mary spent the next few months training Dixie to paint.
She soon found out that Dixie was a natural artist! Holding different styled brushes custom made by her husband. Dixie holds the brush in her mouth and puts paint to paper as they say. What is unique about this is, Dixie could easily hold the brush in the air and wave it back and forth but she wont do that, she knows to put the paint brush on the paper and the results are magnificant as you can see below and on our

page Mary puts the paint on the brush then hands it to Dixie, she does the rest, it is really quite remarkable.
As you can see below, Dixie's artwork rivals some of the best artists in the world. It brings new meaning to "One of a Kind".
